This is a short promo video that Apple has posted showing off the capabilities of the iPad 2 Smart Cover that we wrote about earlier. The Smart Cover is a cover that magnetically attaches to the edge of the iPad 2, automatically puts it to sleep when closed and wakes it up when open and even acts as a stand. It’s a cool product and this video makes it seem even more slick.

The promo video is very Apple, simple and to the point with an edge of cool cleverness that sticks in the mind. It’s very similar to the Smart Cover itself actually. The simple magnetic clasp that allows you to cover the iPad 2 when not in use yet remove it quickly to enjoy it’s simple and super thin form is, dare I say it, genius. It’s a unique solution to the problem that Apple has with designing a beautiful product like the iPad and then selling you a case to cover it up.
